The concept of GAP Entrepreneur was founded by a group of passionate, self-motivated and successful business owners who understand the dilemma facing those who wish to enter into the business world.
There are no entities in SA teaching business on a practical level, which is the only way to fully grasp the “how to” build a business.
In South Africa we enjoy many freedoms and starting a business from scratch is one of them. It is cited that SA is amongst the easiest countries in the world to get a business started, yet it rates amongst the worst in the world for actually starting them.
The focus is all about getting a job. You start pre-school to prep you for primary school, to prep you for high school, with the focus on getting you into university or such. Most degrees, diplomas or programs are aimed at assisting you to get a job. The work place and business world has changed dramatically with influences from world economies and political will. We are no longer guaranteed a placement in a secure job or career even after 4 - 7 years of studying.
So why not consider learning how to make money rather than just waiting for a pay cheque? Nowhere in this process of studying are we stimulated or taught how to start a business of our own.

GAP Entrepreneur assists and teaches you how to be your own boss. We teach you how to conceive of an idea and monetize it. Ever thought of an idea and not acted on it, only to find the idea in some retail store, years later.

Our panel of business experts, have structured a modular based experiential training program that teaches you how to build a business from the ground up and maintain it.

THE TEAM
Gap Campus
Each of our nationwide campuses are headed up by a business mentor who is equipped and trained to start you on your journey to success. Each campus caters for a set number of EA’s (Entrepreneurial Apprentices) and your business year starts in February each year. The campus is the meeting ground for training, projects, business start ups and mentoring. Your goal, to finish with a functional business.
Gap Coaches
Upon completion of your first year within a campus, you may be invited to be mentored by Gap Founder, Andrew Smith. The top businesses from the year are all brought into the GAP BOARDROOM, a place for exciting growth and partnership between top business people in SA and around the world.
Gap International
With campuses opening internationally, you may have the opportunity to take your business international too. Our partner program allows for cross pollination of ideas and businesses across the shores of SA. Imagine having a business abroad and making Dollars or Pounds. All our successful candidates will have the opportunity to “Pitch” international and we’d be delighted to take it there.
